Ah… 2020…
Its bland articles, its undervelopped concepts, its redundant liminality…
Surely we can make better short clincal pages than five years ago right?
Well it's time to prove it

"Again? Didn't we do that last year already"?
— You probably
Well, kind of? But this time, it's different!
We all know liminal purists miss that time of the Backrooms Wikidot where pages were short, liminal, and clinical. Yet, these pages, viewed with the prism of five years of writing imporovement, simply didn't age well. Most had bland concepts summarized to "Thing that is weird" without development of its concept.
Yet, short pages do have their interest, and the same applies for clinical tone or the concept of liminality.
So why not giving it a try?
Guidelines:
In this writing blitz, you will have two weeks to write a short, clinical article reminiscent of the old concepts of this wiki. How can you make something interesting in only less than a thousand words1? It's up to you to find out!
- This event is NOT a contest. It's just a thing for fun, to encourage people to write something fast they wouldn't usually do
- Your entry must respect the following points:
- 1000 words or less (not counting licensing, infoboxes or any block code)
- Only levels, entities or objects are allowed
- Clinical tone should take most of the page (although logs and other narrative formats can add to it)
- No component other than the infobox, licensebox, SD class and image block can be used
- No theme can be used other than the Nuliminal Theme which is mandatory for the page
- No CSS module either!
- You have only two weeks to write and post your article (see dates below)
Rules:
- You may submit only one article for this event.
- Co-authored works are allowed. A co-authored article will count as each author's one allowed submission.
- You may coldpost your article. While you can technically post it as soon as you see this page, it is still heavily recommended you get critique.
- You may participate with an article that began development prior to the official announcement of the event.
- Editing your article after it is posted is allowed, if needed.
- You may use the code "jam2025" to post entries for the duration of the event. Use of this code for other coldposts will be met with disciplinary action.
- Please tag your entries with "jam2025". All articles tagged as such will automatically show up on this page.
Posting Period
As said earlier, you have two weeks to write and post your thousand-word page, so until April 24th to coldpost your page. After that, if you want to post your page, you'll have to go through the regular posting process.
This date is based on "Anywhere on Earth".
- Pages posted through this event still are subject to the Deletions Policy.
- Please set the parent page of your article to this page for the duration of the event by going to + Options > Parent on your page. Staff will remove the parent after the event has ended.
One Final Word of Advice
Remember that this event is just for fun. It's not a competition and is meant to be an interesting excercice for you to try if you're up for the challenge!
