In the last few months, we have tried to give more importance and visibility to the many artists who compose our community. From the resurrection of art features to the recent release of the art page category on the wiki, artists have been in the spotlight more than ever, and we wish to continue this way.
For this reason, we are starting the first art contest of the wiki! (since a while ago, at least)
Contest theme
Some time ago, we had some discussion about the potential creation of a mascot for the Backrooms Wikidot English community, similar to what some of our sister sites like the Russian branch, the Chinese branch or the Indonesian branch have. But who should this mascot be? Well, it is your duty, artists, to decide!
Contest rules
- The dates can be found in the flowchart below.
- The mascot can either be something already on the site (if the original author gives permission for it), or something you came up with.
- You may participate with an art that began development prior to the official announcement of the contest.
- To participate, post your art in the art category on the wiki, and use the tag mascotartcon2024 under it. Remember to also set the parent page of your submission to this hub.
- You may only submit one art page (and therefore one mascot).
- Any attempts to give yourself an unfair advantage will result in disqualification. What counts as this will be decided by staff on a case-by-case basis. If you aren't sure if something counts as this, please ask staff.
- The score of each article will be based purely on their rating at the end of the voting period.
- Like with writing contests, the winner will get the contest winner role.
