It was a normal day for Amber. He was simply walking as usual to his work at the office, enjoying his walk. Ha was using the same path each day, yet he still appreciated the view. He thought this would be a simple day, like any other, with nothing to bother his routine. But he realized quickly how wrong he was, as the suddenly phased through the floor. He shouted in vain, as he exited the realm he always knew as his home, before abruptly hitting an unfamiliar floor beneath him.
"Where am I?"
He started to look around him, trying to understand what was happening, begging for someone to answer his call. Yet, he quickly realized he was all alone.
"What? No!"
His pleas continued as he started to run everywhere, completely lost. This place was unlike any other. The walls were only made of a yellow wallapper that hurt his eyesight, and the repetitive rooms were only making him stress more.
"Stop! Stop that, whatever this this!"
His mind trying to rationalize what we was witnessing, he tried to beg for whatever counciousness above him to release him. Yet, deep down, he know he was all alone.
"Oh, alone? Then I guess there's no hope, time to kill myself!"
Wait what? Amber no! Put down this knife I beg you!
Listen, I know you might feel rushed by everything, but please, understand that I don't mean harm to you. I'm here to help you, trust me!
"You are tormenting me, and I am in a dream. I will escape!"
Amber please! If you do that we will both stop existing! Is that really what you want? I don't want to make you suffer, I'm here to help you! Please!
"Then what are you doing? What is this place?"
This is the story I made for you!
"My story? Just just ENDED my story, teleporting me to whatever this is!"
Please Amber, I understand your feelings but please just give me a chance to prove I don't want to harm you!
"…"
Please… Can you do this for me?"
"…"
That's right… Put away this knife. Please
Oh thank god you're listening. I need to calm down.
Okay, please trust me. Now where was I. Oh yeah. Amber continued to walk aimlessly, trying to find any type of pattern to break this surreal monotony. Little did he know that this realm, called the Backrooms, were only a place of repetitive madness.
"Wow, now that's show don't tell. If this is my story, you are a terrible narrator."
Oh come on, don't be so sarcastic! Please, I want you to trust me. Amber soon found a room with a brighter wallpaper. In this little part of this strange place, he stumbled upon pieces of paper. Perhaps they could help him?
